Clinician – Jim Clark
Jim Clark, although still a young man, has almost 50 years’ experience in the world of fife & drum! He, as an impressive number of his generation of "Ancient" drummers had done, he made his love of drumming and music, his life's work.
Jim has studied nearly all aspects of percussion: rudimental field drumming, Basil style field drumming, classical concert percussion and jazz; he studied with some of the best minds in each of these disciplines.
His academic achievements include: B.A. Central Connecticut State University, a M.A. from Wesleyan University, a M.A. New England Conservatory and a PhD in music theory and history from The University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!).
Jim is a founding member and music director of the much lauded, The Connecticut Valley Field Music.
Jim's clinic this year will be discussing "Connecticut's Fife and Drum Tradition". He will be introducing his new book of the same name.
